There have been a lot of reports that say that Russian forcs didn't know that they were going to Ukraine for war. Some say they thought they were just doing training exercises.
Today, a Russian sоldier who was caught has said that he was 100% wrong about Sutin's invasion. Ukranian officials put out a video of a soldier talking about how state media painted Ukrania as a country that needed to be freed from the grip of nationalists and "Nazis," and how that made the country look bad.
Then, he said: "I'm 100% wrong right now. Don't be too harsh with yourself. Because of the fascists, we were told that Ukraine is ruled by them Nаzis had taken over the power. We didn't know for sure what was going on.
"When we came into this territory, I looked at the address of your boxes. People back home always made me happy. They said, "We didn't call you." I'm sorry we came to this country."
In the fighting, at least 11,000 Russian soldiers have been killed. That's according to the most recent figures from the Ukrainian army.
